City of Baytown Central District Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion
Baytown, Texas
Description:
The City of Baytown selected LAN to provide engineering services to the improvement of multiple treatment process components at the 6.2-mgd Baytown Central District Wastewater Treatment Plant, which was operating inefficiently. A preliminary engineering report (PER) was prepared to identify the deficiencies in the existing facility. LAN also utilized current Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) regulations (TAC Chapter 317), analyzed the ability of the existing treatment components at the plant to support the flows entering, and developed the construction estimate.
Following the PER, LAN proceeded with several of the plant's treatment components. In response to limited project funds, LAN devised value engineered solutions to solve the major rehabilitation issues. As part of the final engineering design, LAN prepared construction drawings, technical specifications, and other bidding documents, as well as a probable construction cost and final design report document.
