Clear Lake City Wastewater Treatment Plant
Houston, Texas
Description:
The Clear Lake City Water Authority selected LAN for the 1.0-mgd expansion and operational enhancements at the Robert T. Savely Water Reclamation Facility. Key elements included new headworks with in-channel grinding equipment, replacement of the aeration basin influent line, replacement of the fine bubble aeration system with improved, longer service life fine bubble system, and expansion of the Return Activated Sludge (RAS) Pump Station capacity.
Additionally, LAN provided rapid design engineering in response to raw influent line and RAS line failures. LAN also provided treatment process analysis and assistance. Nitrification efficiency diminished after the step-feed system was placed in service. LAN analyzed the treatment process and the effect of the alignment of the step-feed system on the nitrification process. Based on the analysis, LAN recommended an alignment of the step-feed system that fully restored the nitrification treatment process.
