Capital Metro Program Management

Description:
Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority of Austin, Texas contracted LAN as Program Management Support Consultant for the implementation of projects under the All Systems Go Long-Range Transit Plan spanning the next four years. The LAN team will provide staffing and technical support for planning, design, construction management, and the procurement of rail cars.
Projects include upgrades to the existing railroad tracks, installation of new sidings, and the new construction of train stops. LAN will work with Capital Metro in the management of other projects such as new rapid bus service implementation and corridor planning or circulator studies.
The proposed starter commuter rail is phase one of the commuter rail system. The downtown station would be located near the Austin Convention Center where passengers will be provided with connections to reach their final destination via a high frequency shuttle bus system. The line is expected to carry approximately 17,000 riders per day by 2025.
