DART Line Section Southeast 2

Description:
LAN provided professional, technical, managerial and other services as a member of a three-party joint venture (JV) for the design of the Line Section Southeast 2 (SE 2) for the Dallas Area Rapid Transit system. Services included guideway and station design as well as support during construction. Project quality assurance and cost/ schedule management remained with DART and ACT 21, the DART General Engineering Consultant.
The SE-2 line section is a 5.8 mile extension from the CBD to Fair Park and Pleasant Grove - the second of two line sections extending. The section includes five bridge structures, five major grade crossings, and two lesser grade crossings. Key elements of the design included a direct fixation bridge over the Union Pacific Railroad spur and a floodplan for White Rock Creek plus a final guideway plan. LAN also provided profiles including fencing and retaining structures, detention design at Buckner station, and overall integration of all disciplines into final documents.
