Northwest Corridor Alternatives Analysis

Description:

The San Antonio, Texas MPO selected LAN to complete an alternatives analysis consistent with Federal Transit Administration project development guidelines. This required an evaluation of the transit modes high occupancy vehicle lanes, bus rapid transit, and light rail transit along several alignments in the Fredericksburg Road corridor.

Project components included developing transit options, evaluation and screening of transit alternatives, and financial plan development. The project demanded substantial community involvement, and coordination with federal officials.

The final plan included recommendations for a preferred transit alignment and mode, or Locally Preferred Alternative as well as a detailed plan for implementation of the project, and recommendations for local and federal funding.
