DART General Engineering Contract

Description:
To manage their first major design/build contract, DART engaged TRACK3 Joint Venture, led by LAN, to build the orange line in northwest Dallas, extending service from the green line to DFW International Airport and the blue line extension from Garland to Rowlett. The TRACK3 Joint Venture provides full service engineering, architecture and construction management services to DART as general engineering consultant for this Phase II-B light rail program.
The orange line includes nine passenger stations along the route while the blue line has one new station. The orange line extension includes a major crossing of the Trinity River floodway requiring a unique long-span bridge design and construction technique.
TRACK3 staff work from two field offices to provide construction management and are also housed in the DART headquarters. Additional design and construction projects are being managed by the joint venture including renovation of an old warehouse in south Dallas for the new DART police headquarters.
