Transportation Master Plan

Kyle, TX

In 2005, LAN completed the first Transportation Master Plan for the City of Kyle, located between Austin and San Marcos. The City was beginning to see growth along IH 35 and several major subdivisions develop and wanted a framework for a future roadway network. LAN was contracted in 2015 to update the plan to address a more than doubling in the City’s population and increasingly rapid growth in commercial and multifamily development. Plan elements include incorporating Hays County’s planned relocation of FM 150, multiple ongoing City roadway bond projects, and large-scale subdivisions and roadway corridors that travel in and out of Kyle’s ETJ. The LAN team conducted a series of public outreach activities, including 3 public meetings, coordination with adjacent Cities, a website with a transportation-information survey, meetings with individual developers, and briefings with City Council. Deliverables included an updated network map, typical roadway sections with construction cost estimates, and a prioritized list of improvements for nearly 100 roadway segments.
